In a car showroom
Spent the morning discussing options for a car to replace the written off Skoda. We'd like another of the same model and we're trying to work out whether to buy new or nearly new as we did last time.
There were not so many nearly new cars available as the salesman led us to believe in the first instance, then he tried to sell us something we didn't want. In the end we left with a quote for a new car and a promise to keep a lookout for nearly new models as well.
At home I did some research again to see what was around. I found two nearly new Skodas on line, both apparently in Maidstone. I also found three online retailers who could supply the same model for up to 20% less. The salesman rang later this afternoon to respond to my email about the two cars I'd found. It gave him something to think about when I told him what I could get a car from online. He's gone away to think about it.
That was the morning accounted for. The afternoon was spent cooking, baking some oatcakes (very good) and more research. One step forward today, probably two steps back tomorrow. There must be a catch with online retailers and these cheaper deals.
