Wallaby Proof Plant
Our only disappointment on arriving home was to find out that the wallabies that visit Wombat Hollow have a craving for succulents. Our newly planted (Wallaby Proof) garden looked like it had been through a blender, except I should say for the Cactus plants that had withstood the onslaught. It looks like we have to accept the fact that we will have to replace all of the munched up succulents with Cactus plants in the near future.
I took this image looking down on one of the cactus plants mainly due to the fact that I had chance meeting with a friend when we were in Ettalong on Sunday who is a keen photographer. Bev was telling me about her theory of how maths plays a big part in plants. Having looked at her instagram images I can see what she means. There is so much structure in plants when you look at them from that angle. This is just a humble cactus, one that would appear fairly regularly in a cactus garden. However the complexity in its make up is quite astonishing.
It's been a really hot day in the mountains today and it looks as if we're in for another hot one tomorrow. I have to say without the extreme humidity that we had in Bundaberg the day was bearable.
