Never mind the quality....
Of the photograph, look at the sunshine!! Can't believe it. 8.00am in the morning and it was more like an autumn morning. It had been frosty at 7.00 am but it was clear and sunny. Didn't rain at all during the day. A bit dull in the afternoon but lovely and sunny again this evening. Makes you feel so much better. Le Tour was a real mountain stage in the alps today. Albertville- Toussuire. Over the terrifying Col de la Madeleine and the Col de la Croix la Fer. These are the stages when the team riders give their all to protect their team leaders and to help pace them up - and down- the mountains. The young riders earn their spurs and put down markers to be leaders in the future. There are specialist climbers in each team but the riders who want to win have to be good at everything. Wiggins and the sky team were awesome in their control of the race. Keeping close watch on important rivals but not allowing themselves to be panicked when others made breaks. Last year's Tour winner Cadel Evans made a break but was pegged back and on the last climb of the day was dropped by Wiggins and Chris Frome. He lost almost 1 min 30 secs and effectively his challenge is over. Barring some unforeseen situation that is. !! The British team now have the first and second in the race. This is stunning.!! They have to do it all again tomorrow.
