40days ..... Shelter

#40days ... day15 ... #shelter, provide cover or protection, an establishment that provides temporary housing for homeless people. Origins are possibly from Middle English sheltron, tight battle formation, or from Old English scildtruma : scield, shield.

I met Liam some time ago. At the time (just for one night) we provided a shelter, tea, coffee, a loo, a smile and a listening ear for those who needed it through the night in Chelmsford city centre. He happened to be passing on his way to find a bed on a bench in the local park. Liam is an educated, erudite journalist who, through a strange mixture of circumstances has found himself finding shelter under a skateboard ramp. People's situations are often complex and tragic. I found it fascinating listening to Liam's story, he gave me permission to photograph and write about him, partly because he himself still writes. Sadly, I don't know where Liam is now. He may be under a skateboard ramp, I hope he may have found a more permanent shelter.
