Day 55 - A shining star

The world has lost another great soul. A dear friend and wonderful musician has lost his battle with the big C! I'm grateful to have known him. I first met Derek in 1991 when he played at the BlarneyStone (an Irish pub in St. John's). He fell in love with my best friend and married her.... I was their maid of honour all those years ago. I'm so sad he's gone, but so grateful to have been touched by his music and his wonderful spirit. Godspeed Derek Harrington. (photo credit - Emily Yetman)
