Stuffed

Tonight I am as stuffed and vacant eyed as this cat. Today consisted of Morning Prayer, a Holy Communion service, leading the bible study, assisting at the funeral of an unexpected, relatively early death ( leaving behind children), then two pastoral care visits at a local hospital.

It was all I could do to keep myself from crying at the funeral. I admit to losing a bit of composure at the end and shedding a tear or two as we were leading the coffin out, but with the wife and the kids as bereft as I don't know what, I'm surprised I held it together as I did. But you do, for them.

Now I just want to eat my body weight in chocolate and drink gin. Sadly I have neither chocolate or gin in the house and I'm too knackered to go looking for it. Perhaps just as well.
