Helen & Desire

My current bed time reading. Trocchi is (in my humble opinion) one of the most sadly underrated Scottish writers of his generation. I first read Helen & Desire for an essay two years ago and find myself drawn back to it now.

It is most definitely an adult novel but one that is handle with great skill. The images are powerful, sensual and erotic and in Helen Smith (the protagonist) Trocchi created, for me anyway, an incredibly powerful, beautiful and alluring woman.
