Thursday
Millie and I started the day with a walk and we happened to bump into my sister, Lucy. She was with one of the children she currently fosters and he needed to burn off some energy so the 4 of us enjoyed the sunshine together.
My manager then picked me up and I met 3 ladies that I shall be supporting. They are all new to the service.
The first will be a handful. She's very lively and mobile' and I will have to have eyes in the back of my head. Her 88 year old husband needs a few hours to himself and is clearly worn out but obviously loves his wife very much.
The second lady is a dream. She is young and was diagnosed 3 years ago but has probably had Alzheimers for up to 6 years. Her husband is a cyclist and part time landscape gardener. He also needs respite from his caring duties. I know I shall enjoy supporting this lady.
The third lady lives in sheltered accommodation. A variety of support and carers are currently involved. She did not stop talking!
Once home, I rang around estate agents and have picked up plenty of work for my brother. I feel I have achieved!
I have crocheted 2 blankets since Christmas. A double, a single and am currently working on a pram blanket in readiness for a great nephew. (hence photo)
