Flying Golf Balls

I was taking Taran for this evening walk over the heath and was nearly hit my a golf ball. It wizzed past missing me by about 2 feet and then I heard someone shout fore after it landed. I approached the golfer but he was not in the least bothered by his near miss and he said he wasn't trying to hit me (thanks) and he had shouted 'fore'. Am I supposed to take comfort from that? He retrieved his ball and went on this way whistling loudly.

So this is what the location would look like if I hadn't been so lucky.
