Ants in my plants

While clearing /taming the small verdant square of overhanging crowded tangled overgrowth, occasionally and somewhat optimistically/ euphemistically referred to 'the garden'; I discovered pathways, flowering shrubs, berries - and a false currant completely laden with aphids.
This seems to happen most years - the honeydew collected for an ongoing ant nest (which is probably devastatingly gigantic by now) - which I'm OK with - as they don't seem to be causing much harm. Looks pretty gross, but live & let live I guess..
