POHUTUKAWA

Stopped on the way out of Tairua this morning to take a few more photos.
This is a youngish POHUTUKAWA tree by the estuary.
I love how the roots and branches have begun to entwine the trunk.
By the time it is old it will be a huge mass of twists and turns, showing not only it's age but also its character.
