Diary of an Edinburgher

A wet day at the Surf Club

Well, another wet day. See! It's not just the UK that's plagued with unseasonal wet weather! This was supposed to be the worst day, and will start clearing tomorrow.

But actually, we managed not to get wet while coffee-ing, scone-ing (a bit like bimbling, but involves sitting for lengthy periods eating scones and people watching) and shopping.

C and I went to the Surf Club and were there a good couple of hours before L & JR arrived from the shops. It's certainly the best spot to spend a dreich day. The beach was busy with swimmers and surfers, oblivious of the drizzle, of course.

We shared a bucket of prawns and a huge plateful of calamari and 'diamond cut' chips. Got to have seafood here, and they do it very well. I must blip the bucket of prawns - it was quite a sight! What BIG eyes they have! The macadamia crusted barramundi looked superb- will try that another time. I feel we will frequent the Surf Club quite a lot.

And so I continue with the theme of handsome young Aussie chaps in my blip today, as we spent most of it in the Surf Club.  Unfortunately it had to be an SP too. He wasn't very chatty, though. Maybe he was shy. Or is that an oxymoron?
