An Unkindness of Ravens

A small moth

I decided to take a photo of some of my rock collection - greenstone this time - but found this very small moth (less than 1cm across) sitting in the bowl (which has water in, to make the greenstone look greener).

It was a very ordinary moth, but as there isn't much insect life out and about in the winter months (even spiders are hard to come by), I thought it would do.
To get this close with my camera, I have to use the 'Zoom macro' function, which uses the digital zoom - hence images are never super sharp with it. Oh how I long for a camera I can change the lenses on! I do have macro filters for my film SLR, but by the time I take the photo, develop the film, scan the image, back blip etc...... I think I've lost the ability to be patient.
