the Irreverent Reverend
Last week I lost a mentor and friend to a brain tumour which just wouldn't quit.
Today I did the hardest speech of my life, as I delivered the eulogy at David's funeral service, which was packed beyond the rafters by just a few of the people whose lives he'd touched.
I was a bundle of nerves but the warmth and love in the crowded church, hall, passageways and beyond helped us all through.
Why the Irreverent Reverend? Too many stories...of a man of religion and spirit who didn't take himself too seriously, or some of the world about him. One of my favourite quotes from him:
"You could summarise the 10 commandments just as 'Don't be a git!"
