One of Four
...only bridge chapels still standing in England. Built 1342 and restored 1847, still in use on the first Sunday of every month.
Happened upon this by chance when I was on an errand in Wakefield today. What joy to find this unused stone bridge with this beautifully carved chapel remaining in splendent glory. It's over the River Calder and across the road from the Hepworth, which I absolutely adore.
