Lunch in Perth
This is a view overlooking the Tay. The flood defenses were built leaving a lovely decked area over the water. The flood gates close it off when the risk is high, which is amazing, because the decking is about 10 feet above the water today.
I lived outside Perth when the last flooding happened after a fast thaw of heavy snow, brought melt water from the huge drainage basin and into the Tay. Most of the town center was under water and surprise, surprise, so were the houses built on the flood plain.
Several million pounds later, I have a lovely platform to blip from.
BTW, the teenagers are alive and well, despite the last two days.
