Mother and daughter

Lara's parents are visiting from California, and we had brunch with them this morning. I loved the affection between Lara and her mom, and the affection they were both beaming at Lara's baby, Sue's one-and-a-half-year-old granddaughter. Much conversation about the upcoming Presidential election, much shared horror at the Trump candidacy. How can this be even possible? Can there really be that many people in this country who are in favor of a coarse, rude, egomaniacal, racist, woman-hating, xenophobic, Islamophobic President who is, after numerous divorces and bankruptcies, married to a woman who models for porn magazines? Really?
