'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes'
A long fabulous day....I met my daughter Kelly in London. First thing on our schedule was to visit The Little Black Gallery in Chelsea to see the small exhibition 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes...Marilyn Monroe by Milton H Green and Douglas Kirkland.' I've been a fan of Marilyn for as long as I can remember so this was a real thrill for me. It was the last day of the exhibition ...so happy we got there.
We walked miles (according to K's FitBit watch we walked over 24,000 steps). Had a coffee and scone in the Victoria and Albert Museum..(we like the green and white tiled restaurant).
Then a walk to Royal Albert Hall and the Royal College of Music, then through Hyde Park. It was a bright day but a bitterly cold wind.
On to Borough Market which is a feast for the eyes...so much fabulous food! Then walked on along the Embankment to Tower of London, across the bridge into St Katharine's Docks. There we had a very late lunch at The Dickens Inn. By the time we had finished it was five o'clock and the light was perfect for photography. This Blip is taken standing with the Tower of London on my right looking up towards The Shard.
Next we made our way to Leicester Square, had a look around China Town, then on to Westminster. We stood and watched Big Ben striking 7pm.
We both parted at the Underground, Kelly going home from Waterloo and me from Victoria.....a precious day together!
