Last glimpse ...

As we took off from Tenerife South airport and headed north this morning, we could see why we were unable to walk on the caldera of El Teide last week. The snow covered not only the cone of the mountain but also the surrounding ring and flat base of the caldera to such an extent that an unequipped group like ours would have been in bothers all the way.

I realise how lucky I was seven years ago when I sat on the rim with the lizards and marvelled at my surroundings...
