The new road to Keswick

The temporary replacement for the damaged section of the A591 is open only for buses, cyclists and pedestrians.  (Not sure about that silly dismount notice, mind.)  An inconvenience for motorists but it makes the cycle ride between Grasmere and Keswick a pleasure.  Normal service may resume in a couple of months.
