Low Newton-by-the-sea
Two short walks on a gloriously sunny Sunday.
The first in the morning when I accompanied MrM to Kirknewton, stopping on the way at Gefrin for a dog walk with Louie. At Kirknewton, MrM went off to do his "squirrel" duties, and I went across to College Burn, in the hope of spotting deer. None to be seen this week, but it was very pretty by the burn and there were good views of the hills (see Extras).
In the afternoon MrM drove us to Low Newton for a walk on the beach with Louie, before going to watch our friends Geoff and Paula performing as 'Blue Edge' in the Ship Inn.
Lots of people strolling on the beach in the late-afternoon sunshine when we arrived. The sea was outrageously blue, and Dunstanburgh Castle, in the distance, was bathed in sunlight. By the time we went into the pub the sun had gone down, the temperature had dropped sharply and the beach was deserted.
A good afternoon! Then MrM drove us back to the flat for left-over venison pie and veg - delicious...
