BELL'S GENERAL STORE
This old shop - 4km from the city centre - was a 'lifesaver' for the older folk of this neighbourhood. It sold everything from a thimble to a pound of butter. It meant they didn't have to scale the steep hills in the heat. But came the supermarkets and corner stores perished. Now it's been divided into a coffee shop, interior decorator, laundromat, and hairdresser. This morning early the barista was arranging his flowers o the shelf outside.
