Village Wall

I do love the selection of interesting lichens on this old wall, and they looked lovely in the morning sunshine.

Because we keep our hens in a neighbours' unused garden, I walk past this wall at least four times a day as I go along to see to them.  Then there is taking Ollie for walks and visiting other neighbours, so that could easily be another four or six times a day, and today I was working in the vegetable plot next to the hens so that added a few trips past it too . .

The soil in the veg plot is amazingly dry and workable, as it is over beach shingle and well drained.  The hens all were out and about, scratching away and enjoying themselves in the undergrowth with Ollie supervising them!  They love to be exactly where you are working and are very inquisitive!

A good day, got a lot done outside and made an egg custard tart for pud!
