Welcome and farewell.

Welcome to Spring blossom. Found when walking in the woods this morning. So intent on taking the photo and pressing on ( I had 5 miles to go to home) that I did not take enough notice of the rest of the tree for a proper identification.

So now I think it it more likely to be a Wild Cherry than a Blackthorn. The stems are green and I see no sharp spines.

The goodbye (in the extra) is to the blue skies and confident sun of last week. They were so enjoyable. This morning we are back to watery sunshine and rain is forecast by late afternoon.
