Lesser back-black gull

Slightly smaller than a herring gull, the lesser black-backed gull has a dark grey to black back and wings, yellow bill and yellow legs. The bird is much smaller than the great back-blacked gull, which has pink legs, and its wings are not as black. Herring gulls (pink legs) have grey wings with black and white tips. Iceland gulls have grey wings with white tips. If you look at my blip dated the 16th of February, you will see that Iceland gulls have pink legs.

I bet you found that gripping! Of course, there is always the chance that you didn’t bother to read it. :-)

It was never my intention to learn anything about gulls but it seems to be happening anyway.
