Meet Herman

After 10 days of careful nurturing i finally got to meet Herman in all his glory. Herman is a German sourdough friendship cake which my mum introduced me too. She explained it to one of her subscribers so i've copied it to enlighten you.....The idea is that a friend brings you some mixture and over a period of 10 days the mix is stirred, added to with flour, sugar, milk. By day 9 the mix is split into 4, 3 to give away and the fourth to keep and add lots of good things. Apples, dates, walnuts etc. and then baked. It is very good and not as solid as it looks, very moist...Anyway, he's just cooling down now and smells gorgeous so i may just have to cut him up and marry him up with a cup of tea. :-)
