Spring?

Meteorologically speaking, today is the first day of spring.  There are other first days of spring to come.  Just as well.  I'll go with the one which feels like the first day of spring and that may be some way off.

I did want to mark the occasion with a blip of a spring flower in full bloom.  there was a yellow iris reticulata but its delicate petals had been ripped by the the cold winds blowing.  There are snowdrops around but their flowers were staying tightly shut.  The blip is of a hellebores which is probably more of a winter flower but does the job.

Delightful lunch with a couple of old colleagues now friends.  They have so much to look forward to.
