Blackslade Brook
I think I need new wellies. They're alright for walking on boggy ground but when I wade in deep water i seem to get a bootful. On examination they seem to have perished above the ankle. That's not very good, is it? They're good Hunter wellies, the modern ones are made in China but these are the good old ones, built in Scotland. I've been throwing them into the back of my cars and vans for the last twenty years, I should think.
Here's the problem. Do I keep wearing them and put up with damp feet on occasions or do I buy a pair of Chinese made ones? Or is there an alternative?
This is the Blackslade brook, up on the moor and it's here I confirmed what I'd suspected about my boots for a little while.
