A different Scout leader

This is Gordon, one of my fellow Scout leaders. This term, he had brought a new dimension to scouting in our troop. We are trying to promote the Scouts running the evenings, but at the same time making sure that we provide an inclusive, active, thoughtful and fun program. These last few weeks, we have shaped the program around my eldest, Mr E, ticking of a few remaining tasks that will earn him the Australian Scout Medallion.

So Mr E has been teaching younger scouts to put up tents, running campfires, teaching about safety and hypothermia. I am impressed at his calm delivery and his teaching style. His scouts own story and reflection was completely unique and reflected his experience as a scout. Great.

In this photo, Gordon is about to tell the scouts that there is marshmallows available for toasting, but the catch is that they all have to help tidy up. They really enjoyed it.
