investigations of a dag

breeches, beaches and braes

a few shots from the 3rd of July when the kids awoke to bolt straight for the bay and into the waves and rock pools like kelpies. Heavy sodden joggies, socks and shoes were soon abandoned in favour of scuffed knees and sinking sandy toes. Here we have Sheen's wee ones Sofia and Dom, and their cousins Eliaine and Seonidh.

After feeding the troops with a hearty lunch (Sheen's mum is an AMazing cook) we chase them into jackets and hoods like netting butterflies to drive to Loch Skiport to feed the wild wee ponies and trek up a few hills. Seonidh ran way ahead out of sight and there was a bit of a kerfuffle as his mum Deirdre tried to find him. In the end he was found and scolded, but it's hard to keep the steps of 4 to 10 year olds in sync over several summits and teeny ravines. While we waited for the search party to return we play with the moths and moss. Sofia finds the concept of moss troubling. "but is it alive?" she keeps asking pulling it off the pony droppings to investigate further . "See" she says shredding the dark furry clumps, well not now..

All asleep (including the adults) by 10pm. Oh the appetite and opiates of sea air.

very back back back blip as I've been chocka of late. Nice to recall though.
