A sketch from open drawing tonight. The professor in charge of the open complained about my using of heavy shading. She pushed me to use vine charcoal and use that for shading, start lightly, and focus on more detailed variety of darkness within the face, and also the muscles underneath the skin. I'm usually a good listener, so I drew this the way she wanted. Afterward, she came to look and got really excited about this. It's certainly an improvement for me.

She also suggested me to buy a book from Peck, "Anatomy For Artists." I ordered for for thirteen bucks off Amazon just a few minutes ago. No problem.

I used yesterday's blip on a sketch from last week's open drawing.

Today was otherwise awful, I was too busy and had to drink 5 shots of espresso to keep my motor running, because I was too tired and too depressed to even want to be on campus. It didn't help much later because I had horrible headaches. Then I kept on going with math class and scanning in my comics.

But I had my iced coffee from McDonald's before attending the open drawing. I became so much more relaxed. Drawing is my virtue.

Off to Phoenix tomorrow to see a couple buddies of mine whom I haven't seen since I left New York in summer '07.
