Lord Sidmouth
Lord Sidmouth watches over the road works on Market day.
This afternoon was spent with Alison, a youngish, woman diagnosed with Alzheimers. As both of us are new to such arrangements, I asked her very lovely husband, what he expected. He told me I was in charge and they would be led by me.
I told him to go and enjoy his 3 hours respite and Alison and I would go into town.
The 3 hours flew by! We walked into town together; did some window shopping, stopped to talk to anyone with a dog, popped into Reeves the Baker and Superdrug and then enjoyed tea and shared some cake before walking to her home again.
Alison chatted non stop. I didn't stand a hope in hell of following her train of thought but she didn't seem to notice.
Next Thursday, I shall visit a second youngish woman. So one in the morning and Alison in the afternoon. These women are in their mid sixties. Such a shame.
Tomorrow, I have 2 octogenarians. They were probably both completely on the ball when they were in their sixties.
