Shelf Stones (Bleaklow)

Every day after his lunch Dad sits in a chair looking across the street at some very large bare trees. Through the trees the horizon is visible ( in Winter) and today I took him to the top of that horizon. Dad no longer remembers his way around the town and it was like a big adventure for him to get to see the town and the hill tops of Kinder Scout and Bleaklow.

This was the view to James's Thorn and Shelf Stones on the SW edge of Bleaklow in the Peak District National Park.  At the bottom of the photo is  the A57 Snake Pass road to Sheffield.

A small use of Dehaze in Lightroom seems to have given this photo a bit more life than was visible to these eyes at the time.
