Big Ben, Philadelphia Style
The first day of March...a month that ushers in Spring, plays host to St, Patrick's Day and, in some cases, even includes Easter (like this year); but for me, the most exciting thing about March is the annual Philadelphia Flower Show.
The Philadelphia Horticultural Society hosts the prestigious show, an amazing showcase of gardening and design that dates back to 1829. I have been fortunate enough to have attended several of the shows in person and it has always been a memorable experience.
The 2016 Flower Show runs from March 5 - 13 and is built around the theme: "Explore America - 100 Years of the National Park Service." I am very excited and looking forward to my visit there next week, but for today, I am looking back at some of my photos from the 2013 Show that celebrated the "Majestic beauty and creative genius of Great Britain." The exhibits explored Britain's heritage and culture and featured traditional British icons like this - the show centerpiece - a sculptural, digitally enhanced rendition of Big Ben.
