Grandpa's Great Escape

For some reason, known only to the headteacher, World Book Day arrived at Oliver's school 24 hours later than the rest of the world (I guess some time zone related issue), and they were focusing on the books of David Walliams.

Oliver chose to go as Grandpa, from Grandpa's Great Escape, a story in which Grandpa is sent to a rather nasty old folks home, and in cahoots with his grandson they make his escape from the clutches of the evil matron and nurses involving a Spitfire from the Imperial War Museum (Grandpa was a pilot in WW2)

I think he looks the part. He was not impressed with having his picture taken, or going in dressed up, but hopefully he got over it once he saw all his friends when he got to school.

Its swimming day today, so I am imagining the sight as they all walk into the local municipal pool all dressed up...
