Shield Generator

Today's task at the museum was to produce Viking shields.  So first a template was made - only poked myself once with the scalpel - then 15 shields were traced and cut.  Made of cardboard, they'll be coloured in by the museum's 'Young Curators' club, Peter's Pals.

Why Peter's Pals?  They've got a stuffed little blue penguin in the collections.  Of unknown provenance, it was labelled as a puffin.  It has since been named Peter.  It is on permanent display in the foyer, nattily sporting a kilt and tam.
