Yew
Traditionally poisonous yew trees were planted in churchyards. Usually there were two. They provided shelter, and wood for long bows and so farmers made sure that their cattle didn't stray onto hallowed ground.
The yew tree has become a symbol of death, rebirth and therefore immortality because when a branch touches the ground it roots and sprouts again.
The weather 'turned' this afternoon and we had snow! (see extras)
