Watering place

Another of my favourite spots in Romsey, caught on today's Blipfoto at a quiet moment on a Friday morning.
Normally it's a pretty busy junction where the town's main thoroughfare known as The Hundred meets Palmerston Street. But the real focus is the restaurant, Bertie's, a long time favourite.
I was first introduced to the place many years ago when it figured in a daily newspaper promotion as a recommended place for lunch.
Enough said! A quick phone call to confirm the details of what we were reading, and Bertie's was the venue for an office outing. Well four of us at least.
But we were so impressed that we subsequently held a number of office Christmas meals there and it became a regular lunchtime venue.
I haven't been there just lately, but its reputation lives on
But then, the Hampshire town is well served by good eating places and we are almost spoiled for choice. Even so, my favourites always figure highly when opting for something special.
