Things we won't miss
Today we traveled/were in transit for 15 hours! The first surprise of the day was our bus from Nong Khiaw back to Luang Prabang was a tuk tuk truck, not a bus! So all 12 people, all who were gringos, climbed in the back knowing the next 4 hours weren't going to be pleasant! The wind was absolutely freezing, we both just put out earphones in and closed out eyes trying to ignore how cold and uncomfortable we where!
We arrived in Luang Prabang and changed bus stations by 1pm - plenty of time to get the 2pm bus south to Vang Vieng. Only to be told "Oh there is no 2pm bus today, you have to wait for the 5pm bus which is more expensive". After a heated discussion between ourselves we brought the tickets and got comfortable for the next 4 hours. (As comfortable as you can in a dusty and hot bus station with nothing around) Luckily Cameron had a movie on his phone so that passed 2 hours of our time.
We finally got on our way, the driver handing out travel sickness bags was a concerning sight! The next 6.5 hours was the windiest bus journey we have been on - we just slept and had the music loud to cover the noise of other people throwing up. We arrived in Vang Vieng at 1130pm and thankfully our hostel hadn't given our room away so we fell asleep immediately.
