Old soldiers never die . . . .
Been having awful probs with Wi-Fi but have now found the hotel's hotspot.
Saw this old guy on a station platform somewhere enroute to Amritsar. Sikh and ye shall find?
I'll draw a veil over some other views from the train as I was almost in tears at some points.
So, we arrived in Amritsar just before the forecast rain, and when our guide took us to the Golden Temple to see the evening ceremony, it was a bit of a quagmire out there. Very much worth it however. What a wonderful place. Organised chaos getting into the temple itself, but again worth it. Several holy men gein it laldy on the tabla and a floor mounted forerunner of the accordion, and a senior man reading quietly from the holy book. A hundred or so men and women sitting quietly mumbling their prayers and meditating. Quite moving.
The ceremony which followed saw the holy book moved from the temple to it's onshore overnight testing place. Much pomp, but patently obviously a significant part of the day.
