On the Boatyard Slipway
6.2C starting bright with sunny spells. More cloud from mid morning. Moderate Northerly breeze.
Maeve the Deerhound and I went through to Arbroath before 9am and had a walk round the harbour. We walked round the inner harbour to the boatyard. There was a different boat on the slipway today. Our Julia from Scarborough. I heard in the news this past week that the boatyard (MacKays) is making two new wooden masts for the Waverley.
The fishing boats that have been on the slipway are still tied up in a corner of the inner harbour. The inner harbour was still busy with lots of boats berthed, although there were more creel boats in the outer harbour.
Two fishermen on the outer harbour wall today. The lock gate to the inner harbour was closed so we could walk round in a loop to get back to the car. The quayside was lined with piles of creels. Possibly even more creels than last Saturday. Colder again today in the Northerly breeze. Gloves on as much as possible.
Maeve and I went for a walk after lunch. Enya on the Nano (Dark Sky Island). Just a 2 mile loop down to the shore road and round the main road and back home.
