Loch Katrine
The children were collected by my parents bright and early and without a backward glance, two excited grandchildren left for their second holiday of the summer. My mum did have a look of slight panic, I know she's worrying about what to do with them if the weather doesn't improve - in the past they've spent a large chunk of the day on the beach. Their wellies have been packed and I'm sure they'll still be on the beach.
We took the opportunity to go on a slightly more challenging walk than we would do with the children and climbed Ben A'an, I think the children would have managed but one of them may have moaned a bit. It was a fantastic walk which starts quite steeply and then levels out for a while and then there's a steep, rocky climb to the top. Apart from the midges the climb to the top was well worth it. The views over Loch Katrine, this picture, and Loch Achray are fantastic.
Been a while since I've climbed that far so away for a soak in the bath before heading out with Fi and Lyall, looking forward to a lovely evening.
