Spring Visitor

As I mentioned here, we are visited each year by a pair of mallard ducks.  Their arrival announces that Winter is nearly over and that Spring is upon us.  We've had frog spawn in the pond now for a good few weeks so I've been hopeful that they would be back soon, but there had been no sign.  

Today was their first visit.  It is a pleasure to have our visitors back, not least because they join the throng of ground feeds that clear up the spilled seed below the bird feeder! 

The light was not great but I managed to catch this shot of Mrs Duck before she finally retired for the night.
