Siraman..

One of Javanese Traditional before the marriage ceremony.


Siraman or Showers Ceremony,
The event was carried out during the day before Ijab or wedding ceremony is intended to cleanse the body and soul. Siraman usually done in the bathroom or the family garden each and perpetrated by parents or their representatives.
There are seven Pitulungan or helper (Pitu means seven) - usually seven people were considered good or important - who helped this event. The water is a mixture of flower setaman called Banyu Perwitosari that if possible taken from seven springs and symbolizes life. The bride's family would send an envoy to bring the Banyu Perwitosari to the groom's family home and poured it in the house of the groom.
