Mother's Day

Mother's Day, and although the same commercial arguments apply as for all the other Hallmark occasions, I can't deny that it is heartwarming when one's offspring remember the date; I may not have been the best mother on earth, but I am the only one they have and only one of two people who love them unconditionally.

Cards arrived yesterday by snail mail and over the internet, phone calls have been made and a Skype call scheduled for 7pm Hungarian time. Eldest daughter came for coffee with champagne and Glasgow daughter with  Ewan came for lunch and more champagne.

Nina was off skiing with her dad some where in the snowy wastes of Scotland, after having spent all week persuading him that was what she wanted. She had a bit of indecision last night when she heard that Grandma was going to have pancakes with lemon and sugar, and cake for afters. She was found googling whether she should go skiing or visit Grandma. Bless!  I think she came to the right decision as she got her skiing and the cake went home to her.

After watching some of the Meadows marathon runners passing the foot of the garden like hamsters on a wheel, Ewan decided he would practise running up and down the hall.( Extra image) He should sleep tonight.
