Swaledales sunning themselves.
The main excitement activity of the day was a trip to the tip recycling centre. This was late afternoon and the route takes us along a tiny back road. On the way there I spotted these "Swaadles" in one of the fields. Having disposed of the rubbish there was a convenient place to pull in just opposite the field gate.
The sun very obligingly appeared from behind the black clouds giving a nice golden light to the scenes. We weren't close enough to be certain but I am fairly sure going by the horns on them they are Tups (sorry Rams I do keep going back to my linguistic roots). The farmer must have a good sized flock as every single animal in the field had a good set of horns. At a rough estimate he must have in the region of 1200 ewes if these are Tups.
