It may be faint

But I believe this is my first ever sighting of the Aurora Borealis - and from central Edinburgh at that.

My brother and sister in law were in Iceland some 18 months ago and saw the Northern Lights in the full glory. A colleague has been in Iceland this weekend for the 4th time in the hope of seeing them.

And tonight with reports of sightings in East Lothian we popped up to the attic and saw a definite green hue. Well, the rest of the family saw the green: my colour blindness did not pick it up but I could definitely see the light effect. Our son's camera captured it more distinctly.

So another of the bucket list ticked off in part!
