Shield Bug
I started to do a bit of gardening today between showers and noticed this shield bug sitting one of the leaves of the Abelia so dashed inside to get my camera and load up the macro extension tubes. Until now I have only used these with a 35mm prime on the basis that this would give the sharpest results. However since I had the 70-300mm already on I decided to experiment with that instead. I discovered I could remain much further from the subject which is a good thing with bugs !
Still debating whether to go to the park tonight to see the occultation. After the transit of venus debacle its a tough decision.
