Yet Again

Just after midnight while the deluge of rain and wind pounded the peninsula, another branch crashed to the street.

I had just turned off the TV and was sitting there listening to the rain when this even larger eucalyptus branch cracked and fell.

In an instant, a local police car was there with lights flashing to warn other drivers. The officer jumped out of his vehicle and another neighbor joined him in a flash to move the imposing limb out of the lanes of traffic.

They appeared so fast it was if they were waiting nearby for this to happen. Within a few minutes they had pushed it out of the way and we're gone. Like guardian angels.

Heaven must be watching over our house.
