Most important is an apology to the subject, as this image and how I have processed it is not entirely flattering. This is a fully working model of the Newcomen Engine which this chap had built (around 150 hours work). It is a superb model. I am an engineer, and sometime model-maker, so I know just what is involved, though I would never have attempted, nor been able, to produce such a fantastic working model. And he was so helpful.

The Steam weekend at the BCLM has gone outstandingly well (so far), though it was a disappointment that some major personal problems meant that Adam Hart-Davis could not be present.

The main scar for me on the event was that the Olympus E-M5 locked up at one point (new firmware), and required a battery removal to sort it out, during which I lost several images. I like the E-M5, but, even before this, the GH2 ergonomics are for me vastly better, but unfortunately the display on the GH2 is not nearly as good as the E-P5.
